West Virginia State Parks – Blackwater Falls State Park
Blackwater Falls State Park lies just west of the Allegheny Front, a high escarpment that acts as the drainage divide between the Ohio and Potomac River systems. The Blackwater River springs to life in the southern end of nearby Canaan Valley and travels north and then west to reach this spot, where the water plunges 57 feet to form Blackwater Falls.
