B&O Railroad vital to Grafton, West Virginia #1386

Railroad enthusiasts will appreciate visiting Grafton, W.Va., the seat of Taylor County, and a community in which the B&O Railroad played an important role. Main Street exudes Americana as seen here on August 4, 2020.

Grafton "was chartered in 1858 and named in honor of John Grafton, a civil engineer who helped design the route of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) through northern West Virginia. Grafton is situated on the main line of the B&O on the Tygart Valley River," according to the West Virginia Explorer.
