Coopers Rock State Forest Landscapes and Nature

Coopers Rock State Forest landscape photography is one of the first activities I undertook after moving to Morgantown, W.Va., in 2016. It did not take long for me to find the joy of hiking and creating images in West Virginia's largest state forest.

As you pass the overhead sign when you enter Coopers Rock, "located just off I-68, about 13 miles from Morgantown, the park features canyon overlooks, historical sites, picnic shelters, 50 miles of hiking and biking trails, sandstone cliffs for climbing and bouldering, cross-country ski terrain, a lake perfect for reeling in trout and a nearby river for rafting," according to WVStateParks.com.
